17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.18 For the Scripture says, t “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,” and, t“The laborer is worthy of his wages.”
1 Timothy 5:17-18
12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and tadmonish you,
13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
1 Thessalonians 5:12-13
Today we are celebrating Founder's Day at my church, Dominion COGIC. I am very excited. I must admit that I am a celebratory person, and I enjoy a good time anytime, but today is special. Today is special for a number of reasons, the least not being, that today is another day that God has blessed us to serve and worship him. But that being said, today is a day we get to give back to our Pastor and our First Lady for all they have been, done, and given to us. In doing this we also get the opportunity to be obedient to God and His Word, because he has commanded us to show honor and appreciation for our Pastors.
I feel, no, I know I am blessed to have such a wonderful Pastor and First Lady. These are two people who have poured their lives out before God and then turned and poured their lives out for us, their members. A great deal of times in church and especially in religion, we find ourselves saying great things about our leaders whether we mean it or not, because that's what religion is all about...doing things over and over whether or not you really mean or feel them at all. But that is not the testimony of any member of Dominion COGIC that is truly awake and living in this time.
You see, our Pastor's live open lives before us. When I say that i mean, we can come to them at anytime with anything and expect to receive help and encouragement without judgement and condemnation. We are always loved and supported by our Pastors and they are always there for us. I don't know about you, but for me it feels great to fellowship with my leaders and other members of our church. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to sit down and eat, fellowship, have fun, and be real with the same people that I am learning from.
You may think its strange today if you see us showing honor and appreciation to our Pastor, ou make think that all we do is not necessary, you may even think the way we act towards them is a little crazy. To that I will offer you this remix of an old church saying...YOU DON'T KNOW LIKE WE KNOW WHAT OUR PASTOR HAS BEEN TO US OR DONE FOR US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
